It’s a Tiny World after all

With just 8 hours left to finish and submit your game, Ludum Dare 23, is winding down. On the 10 year anniversary of the renowned gamejam, their theme was, aptly, dubbed “tiny world.” It has collected over 1100 games in 72 hours, and now we’ve got three weeks to play (and if you participated, rate) them all before a winner is announced.

I’m certain that I won’t make it through even half of these games, but I will try nonetheless. And you should too.

April Fools Bundle is no joke

With a new month comes a new Indie Bundle, and just in time, because the HumbleIndieBundle for Android just closed down.

This time its the fine folks over at IndieRoyale with their “April Fools Bundle” which includes Defense Grid: The Awakening, Hack Slash Loot, Alien Zombie Megadeath, Explodemon, and Astro Tripper. Frozen Synapse getting DLC, in beta now

It may be a year old, but I’ve just recently gotten hooked on Mode7′s simultaneous turn-based, tactics game, Frozen Synapse. It’s got an interesting campaign, awesome multiplayer, all sorts of baked in social functions, a wicked soundtrack, and I got lucky in terms of timing too, because there are big things for it on the horizon with little to no wait required on my part. Like what, you ask? How about new DLC and a mobile/tablet version.

Terraria dev’s moving on

It’s been a good time, but it seems the free updates to the surprise hit, Terraria, may be done.

After a year of continually stunning the internet with how much people wanted a 2D sandbox, mining, adventure game, the dev’s are moving on to new projects which are hopefully just as awesome as the first.

I’d love to hear a Castle Story

What if I told you a story in which theres a game that is a wonderful mix of sandbox and RTS; where the goal was to explore, harvest materials, build castles, and defend your floating islands from enemies and other players? Well, I didn’t make that story up, because it’s the idea behind an indie game in development called Castle Story.
