The Binding of Isaac was not a game that skimped on content. I haven’t sunk hours upon hours into it, but I logged a solid 5 or 6 hrs on Steam and am nowhere near the halfway point in terms of finding all the items, seeing all the rooms, unlocking the different characters, and beating all the bosses. However, that wasn’t enough for Edmund McMillen, and thus we have a massive update (50% more content!) coming later this month called, Wrath of the Lamb.
“50% new content” I hear you scoff, under your breath. “How could they possibly add that much new content to a game?” Well, let me break it down for you. They’re doing it by adding over:
- 10 new bosses,
- 100 new items,
- 20 new enemies,
- 4 brand new chapters,
- 1 extra character,
- 6 all new rooms,
- 40 more unlocks,
- 4 new tracks,
- and a new ending (just like ME3!).
I can tell you’re impressed; in awe, possibly. But your first thought is probably the same as mine: “yeah, but will it cost half of what the game already set me back?” and the answer is no. All of that sweet, glorious new content will only cost you $3.
But this shouldn’t be breaking news anyway. The bare-bones details were released back in January. You had time to prepare for this. So, on May 28th I’d better see all of you logged into steam and playing this game. Because all that content for such a low price is a complete steal.
